Valentine's Day

After you've been married a while, it is easy to back off of romancing each other.  I love Valentine's Day (and Sweetest Day, and our anniversary) because it is a special day in which Nick and I can celebrate each other, and remember why we love each other.

This year, with all of the fun Pinterest ideas I have been finding, I decided to have him go on a scavenger hunt around our house!  I printed out a puzzle from the internet (I found mine here, but you can find oodles if you search in Google), and put little clues on each of the pieces (making sure that I went in order with the pieces).  Each clue told him where to go next in the house, but also tied in with something fun that I liked about him.  I then wrote a big note on the back side of the puzzle telling him where to find his final present.

I put this note on the sliding door, so he saw it when he came in:

Then this is where each of the pieces were hidden:

After he assembled all the pieces, his present was hiding under his pillow--the Valentine's Fairy had left him a gift!

He got the Batman: Arkham City videogame for his XBox360.  When the present is unoriginal, make the delivery one-of-a-kind!

  1. #1-love the idea! #2-tell me about Carcassonne...I sat down to go through my blog reader and this is the second blog to mention it...it's new to me. I've played the others and love them, though, so since I like your taste, I'd love to know more!
