The Boy Behind the Blog
A fun link-up from an online friend, Meg, is to interview the Boy Behind the Blog with 5 questions every month. Just something fun for our Thursday night! In going to the site, I realized I am a few weeks behind, so I went ahead and asked him ALL the questions they've had so far. I recorded it so that I could dictate his answers accurately just as he said them--because I think he's funny! (Anything in parenthesis with italics is what I said.)
1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be? (long pause) Hmm....I don't know. Maybe like an eagle or something because flying sounds fun. I watched a video today of a guy that strapped a GoPro onto an eagle and watched it fly around, and I thought it was cool.
2. What is your favorite meal? Probably Brazilian Steakhouse dinner. It's got a lot of meat, and cachaça is good (Brazilian rum) and caipirinhas are good.
3. Do you use any forms of social media? Which one is your favorite? I have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare, and Google+, but I don't really use it. My favorite is probably Facebook.
4. Beer, wine, liquor, other, or none of the above? Mixed drinks, probably, so liquor.
5. Complete the sentence: "Never have I ever..." broken a bone.
6. Does your wife use your real name, or a nickname, on her blog? Real name.
7. If you had a blog, what would the title be? I did have one, it was called WEblog, or Web log, which is what blog is short for. (Wasn't it called Nick Walton's weblog?) Something like that. (You're very creative.)
8. Do you ever feel ignored by me because of the blog? No.
9. How has my blog changed or evolved throughout our relationship? Um..first, you blogged about the dogs. Then you blogged about having a baby--the frustrations of having a baby. And now you blog about our baby. And about our move. You blog actually a lot less than you did before, especially about the dogs and the baby. You post more to social media about the baby. (I used to have a Xanga.) That doesn't count.
10. What is your favorite post on my blog? Oh, I don't know. I don't have a favorite. A lot of time I don't end up reading them because I don't get notifications, so I'll go back and I'll read a bunch of them right in a row.
11. What celebrity would play you in a movie about your life? Nathan Fillion! (Which set me laughing like crazy, because he is MY celebrity crush!)
12. What is your dream car? Right now? Corvette! No, that's not true. I just said that because I know you were expecting it. Probably like an early '80's, actually '79 would be cool because that's the year I was born, but early 80s Porche 911SC. NOt to be specific or anything, just guessing. I think another favorite car is the Montero I have now, but deck it out with like safari stuff like a snorkel and big rack on top with bigger wheels, so we can fjord streams.
13. Do you have any tattoos? No.
14. Boxers or Briefs? Briefs. Seriously, people with boxers, they don't even know. Boxer briefs are the worst. Boxer briefs are even worse than briefs. At the end of the day, all you're left with are these bell-bottoms, that are swinging around your legs, dun-dun-dun... They don't hold the elastic at all. Cotton boxer briefs are terrible. You just look stupid in them, let's be honest. Those bell-bottoms.
15. Three random facts about yourself...
a. I have all my wisdom teeth. I have never had a tooth pulled.
b. I generally feel like I'm good at everything, but not the best at anything.
c. Hmm....I'm trying to think of something as random as possible....I don't like theme parks.
(Alright, last five...) You're recording this?
16. What would you do with $1,000,000? Although it's not really enough, I would probably quit my job, and seek employment as an over the road trucker. I'd buy my own 18-wheeler and we would truck, we would haul loads. (Are you just saying this because I'm recording??) I would probably pay off all my school loans, and pay off our house in Ohio, probably still quit my job, invest half of it, and then just like, travel the country for an entire year in an 18-wheel truck! Or like in an RV or something.
17. What is your dream job? Something where I'm not at a desk all day long, but up and doing something all day long. Something mechanical, fixing stuff.
18. Who is your celebrity crush? It probably changes over time. I wouldn't say it's a crush, but I kind of just respect this person, not really for what they say, but kind of what they have accomplished, and where they have come from.
Adam Corolla. (You can't have a man crush!) Why not? It's Los Angeles! But I just, I like the fact that he had nothing. Like, his family grew up dirt poor. And, he worked hard, and he did construction, he was good at it, and he got this break to do radio stuff, and it kind of spawned this career of radio and television. (I was expecting it to be a woman answer. Generally when you say celebrity crush, it's a member of the opposite sex.) Eeh, I don't look at anybody but my wife. (Good answer.)
19. What is your favorite sports team? I generally like to root for the team that's the underdog. It doesn't really matter who the team is.
20. What was your AOL/AIM screen name, back in the day? PhilipJCaputo, which I still use.

This is great! I love this linkup to hear what the guys have to say. We always talk about them so much, but I love (kind of) reading their personalities through the way they talk. I love how Nick knows what you write about too!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, I love Nathan Fillion, but he's not my celebrity crush, that would be Anne Hathaway, and I almost went to truckin' when I retired the FIRST time. I don't use my wife's real name on the blog, she'd kill me. I simply call her "TLW" = the little woman. She doesn't like that either, wonder why?
