New Year's Resolutions

Last year, I made three resolutions.

1. Read 50 books.  It was met with a LOT of scoffing from people on FB, saying I wouldn't have time to read once nugget made her arrival. Well, I bite my thumb at those people, because I read 47.5 books this year!!  (.5 because I am in the middle of The Walking Dead Compendium One)  Boo yah!

2. Keep good track of my mileage run/walked.  This I did better at, but still not perfect.  According to my page on MapMyRun.com,  I ran/walked/hiked 103.61 miles this year. I know I did more than that, but that is what I recorded.

3. Get my photography business back up and running.  This is still a work-in-progress. I have done triple the sessions I did last year, though.

Things that weren't in my official resolution list, but I still accomplished:
* I had a baby. Wooftie, it was hard work, and I eventually had to have a C-section, 'cause she just wouldn't come out. So, I guess you can add...
* Have major abdominal surgery
* Joined the church worship band
* All the members of our family have been in Rhett and Link videos. Nick, Waldo, and Gus were in this one in January, and Avonlea, Gus and I were in this one in November.
* I went to the Ellen show (sat in the front row, and got a free air purifier that costs $800).
* I got to meet Monica Potter from "Parenthood", and she is one of the nicest people in the world.
* Went to an LA Galaxy soccer match, and an LA Dodgers baseball game.
* Was on TV 3 different times--how cool is that??
* Went to Disneyland twice.
* Did a half-marathon and 3 5Ks
* Did 3 once a month cooking days.

So, without further adieu, this year's list:

1. Read more. Last year, I made a resolution to read 50 books.  Next year, I would like to hit my 50 book mark.

2. Cook more and eat out less.  This involves having a plan, so I would like to meal plan each weekend for the following week.  Goes hand-in-hand with #3.

3. Stay on a budget.  Nick and I are starting Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover.  I am going to really struggle, but I really want to do my part by living within the means that God has given us.

4.  Learn something new.  I would really like to play guitar. Or the piano. Or learn how to yodel. Seriously, though, I want to always be stretching and learning. So this year, I would like to apply that to something. Not sure what yet, but it will be something.

5. Blog at least once a week.  Writing is therapeutic for me. I would like to commit to doing it more. It can be on this blog, or on my baby one, or on my dog one, but I would like to blog on one of them at least once a week.

6. Log all of my mileage. Do 2 half-marathons, and at least 5 5Ks.

7. Date Nick.  Let's commit to one date per month, honey.

8. Take one photo a day, not of my kid.
