Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

I have been looking for ways to get more involved at our church, Ecclesia Hollywood, and so when I saw in the bulletin that they were forming a choir, I knew what I would do first!

We had 4 practices during November and December, leading up to our "performance" on December 18th during both services.  Nick was going to drop me off each week--we ride together to church, since we have a long drive.  At our first practice, we realized that we only had one bass singer.  So, I casually mentioned that Nick might be a good person to add in as a bass or a tenor.  He is musical, and though he has never been in a choir, he can carry a tune and he understands music.  Someone in the choir said, "Well, why don't you ask him?"  And I replied, "Because he'll say 'no' if I ask him.  You should ask him."  So someone in the choir yelled down at him and asked if he would join us, and he said yes!

We sang 2 songs on our own, and then sang 3 songs with the congregation.  We sang behind the stage, in one of the coolest environments I have ever been in!  I'll do another post tomorrow about how amazing our church is, but we sang back where the fly system is from the old theater days.  The acoustics back there were absolutely incredible.  It was like being in an old cathedral the way the sound bounced around.  Amazing.

They are working on getting a recording where the audio and video are synced up, so I don't have that yet, but as soon as I do, I will put a link up.  You just have to hear it.
