At Nick's party (which I will blog about soon...blogging has taken a backseat to house hunting), we invited a bunch of people from our church. It has been really great getting to know new people here in SoCal. However, if you invite SoCal-ers to a party, you have to serve SoCal food! Which means dishes with no dairy, dishes with no meat, dishes with no gluten, etc, etc, etc. The traditional Walton/Hume family dishes were not going to work this time!
I scoured Pinterest for some fun but delicious dishes, and I found these Fruit Kabobs that I wanted to try. There is no link to the original post, but there's not a lot to them. here's the original picture:
Can you believe I have never cut a canteloupe before? Well, it's true! I can't say that any longer. Thanks to our friend Stacey for helping (yes, I need to blog about their visit, too) me. We came up with a good assembly line, and skewered away!
Here are some of the results! Got to use one of my favorite wedding gift platters, too, which was a bonus.
They were a huge hit, and were all gone before the end of the party. Made me wish I had made a few more!
Thanks again, Pinterest!
