I will be posting this week about things that we did while at "home".
But I thought I'd take today to write about what we did yesterday with the boys.
We got back to CA at 10:30--we picked up our luggage and our car, and were hoping that somehow, someway, we would be able to make it to the PetHotel to get the dogs by noon (after noon, there was a per-dog overage fee). We were doubtful, but the traffic gods smiled on us, and we made it at 11:55!
The boys were SOOO excited to see us. Gus was spinning in circles and whining, and Waldo was shaking. Such happy boys. :)
We took everything home, and Nick did a couple of work things, and then we headed back to Summerland to the dog beach. The boyz and I have been there before, but Nick had never been.
The beach is about 60 miles from our house, but traffic was good (benefit of being a Monday afternoon), so we got there in about an hour.
Gus is getting better about being in the waves. I think Waldo is having a good influence on him.
I remembered the flying squirrel toy this time! No chasing after sticks anymore. :) I have found they swallow less water if we use this flat toy.
Waldo LOVES to fetch! He jumps in front of whomever is throwing it as if to say, "hurry up! I'm ready!"
After playing fetch for a while, we did a walk along the beach.
We came across these...things...along the way. I don't know what they are--some kind of mussel?
Waldo is such a poser.
We saw a lot of these crabs. This is one I had stepped on.
And we saw a lot of these jelly-ish things. They were bright orange. I thought they looked like brains, or Cheetos Puffs.
Waldo watching for the frisbee to be thrown....
And then he jumps over the waves to get it!
One great thing about Summerland beach is that they have a dog wash station there. We didn't use the soap, but just used the spray to get the sand off. I give them outside baths when they get home.
The sign of a great day!
We are so glad to be home!
