Nick and I headed down to Congress, Arizona to see his brother Jesse, his wife, Sarah, and his nephew, Quincey. Nick's other brother Jake flew into town to drive down with us. Jesse and Sarah are moving from AZ to Wyoming, and the boys were going to help pack up the U-Haul.
We took the boys with us on the journey--Waldo wears a shirt in the car, now, since his back touches the ceiling of the car, and he sheds like crazy! The shirt helps keep the stray hairs in check.
Jesse and Sarah live in a tiny town, with no ambient light--something you don't get to see EVER in Los Angeles! I enjoyed getting outside at night, and taking some long-exposure pictures with the camera and a flashlight.
We always enjoy a rousing game or two of Wizard. Nick's younger brother Jesse, especially.
On Saturday morning, Sarah and I took the boys for a walk. Even though it was only 9:00, it was still HOT. The dogs got very warm (see Waldo's tongue?), and were happy for me to spray them with the hose when we got back.
Long way from home!
How many Waltons does it take to pack a U-Haul?
Jesse and Sarah's little boy Quincey is sooo cute!! He loved playing with Gus and Waldo, and they did really well with the extra attention, too. Gus' tail got a little unruly at times, but Quincey didn't seem to mind too much.
This is Jesse and Sarah's dog, Zeb. Sweet, sweet Zeb.
It only took the boys a few hours to pack the U-Haul to stuffed capacity. We went into Wickenburg for some lunch (and some DAIRY QUEEN!).
After we were stuffed, we spent the afternoon under their covered porch, swatting flies and playing with our respective electronic devices. The dogs enjoyed a nap in the shade (and Waldo watched the birds).
I could not get enough of all the stars! Can you see the Little Dipper?
More fun with long exposures and flashlight!
On Sunday morning, Quincey had fun in our room, playing with the dogs. The first picture makes me laugh sooo hard! Gus was so patient while being bonked in the head. :)
Smoochies for Waldo!
A good weekend. Short, but sweet. The dogs certainly had a good time. They slept the whole way home.
